In-Situ Forming

Technology

We are at the forefront of pharmaceutical innovation, particularly in the field of Long-Acting Injectables. In-situ forming drug delivery system is designed to provide patients with long-acting, controlled-release formulations that significantly enhance therapeutic outcomes while improving patient compliance.

What is In-Situ Forming Technology?

In-situ forming systems involve drug formulations that transform from a liquid state into a solid or semi-solid depot upon administration into the body. These formulations are injected directly into the body, reacting with physiological conditions (e.g., temperature or pH, solvent exchange) or external triggers to form a gel or solid depot. This allows for a sustained release of the active pharmaceutical ingredient over an extended period, often weeks or months.

Our Technology

Our in-situ forming system is based on a solvent exchange mechanism. When the injected depot comes into contact with the aqueous body fluids, interactions between the solvent and the surrounding environment trigger solid or semi-solid depot formation. This process enables the controlled and gradual release of the drug. Typically, these systems utilize biocompatible and biodegradable polymers as drug carriers, along with organic solvents, to facilitate the transition from liquid to solid. This ensures effective drug delivery and the safe degradation of the carrier material in the body over time.

Applications in Pharmaceuticals

In-situ forming systems have been advantageous in treating chronic conditions that require long-term drug administration. They are ideal for the controlled release of peptides, proteins, and other biologically active compounds. By minimizing the need for frequent dosing, in-situ forming injectables improve patient quality of life while ensuring more consistent therapeutic effects.

Our Expertise

At Varian Pharmed, we have developed proprietary technologies and formulations that leverage in-situ forming systems to meet diverse therapeutic needs. Our R&D team continuously optimizes these technologies, ensuring our products provide maximum efficacy and minimal patient discomfort. We are committed to pushing the boundaries of drug delivery science, making advanced treatments more accessible and efficient for patients worldwide.
